ChaosWhen British soldier Alex Fisher returns home from his tour in Bosnia, he's plagued by blackouts, recurring nightmares, and uncontrollable acts of violence. Escaping to Mexico, Fisher sets off on a globetrotting tour in an attempt to distance himself from the demons in his head. A chance meeting with a mysterious woman named Angela introduces Fisher to a far more passionate-and far more dangerous-life. After a series of life-threatening encounters, Fisher begins to wonder just who Angela really is-or even if she's real at all. With his grip on reality slipping, Fisher's demons return in full force, awakening a flood of suppressed memories. As he attempts to sort through his complicated and half-remembered past, Fisher discovers that the truth is harder to accept than the lies. The first of four books by a popular Dutch writing duo, this tense, psychologically acute thriller marks their American debut.

Most beautiful city visited: Every time we visit Paris we see new things and have new experiences, but at the same time the city feels like home. Amsterdam is a good second; it is unique because of the visible present-the freedom of expression situated in an historical freeze-frame-combined with the visible past; old times are dripping out of every stone in the seventeenth-century houses along the canals.
Preferred Saturday-night activity: When we aren't traveling we watch movies or have dinner with family, friends . . . We like to cook. We like to drink. We like to have a good laugh. Cozy stuff, though.
Favorite movie: Fight Club, Warriors Bosnia, Vanilla Sky, Amores Perros, Enemy at the Gates, Boondock Saints, American Beauty, Y Tu Mama Tambien.
Favorite mode of travel: By car, roaming through Europe. All the different countries, languages, cultures, landscapes is very, very inspiring. We always take our music and laptop with us.
Preferred season: It depends on the season we're in . . . After a month of summer, we long for autumn. In winter, we long for spring. We like the change, variety. Or maybe longing is what we long for the most.
What really lives inside is music . . . we write with a headphone on our heads:
1) Mezmerize, System of a Down
2) One Day Remains, Alter Bridge
3) Mutter, Rammstein
4) Sixteen Stone, Bush
5) Nevermind, Nirvana
